Alien: Covenant (2017) **REVIEW**

Remember when ‘Prometheus’ was released? You could say this is a follow-up. A ship is out in space towards a new colony, they need to be in sleep for about 14 years. But something happens 7 years in their sleep, some of the crew members get waken and now they have to fix the ship. Because on board they have about 2.000 colonisers and 1150 embryos.

But during repairs they pick up a signal, a song¬† from earth. So they decide to locate the signal and they find someone who’s been missing for 10 years. A scientist named Elizabeth Shaw from the ship Prometheus. They find the robot, David,¬† she was traveling with and now they have to fight for their lives. As some sort of mist goes in their bodies and few seconds to minutes later something claws it’s way out of the host body and start chasing down other humans.

‘Alien: Covenant’ made people skeptical but after seeing it, it’s actually quite good. Got scares moment and it’s gory as… if you appreciate the ‘Alien’ franchise I’d say you would most likely like this one. We get to find out what happened to Dr Shaw, since last time we saw her she left a planet in a ship to go after someone, been a while since I saw ‘Prometheus’ so I think I’ll have to see it again.

Who are the actors is in this film and where do we know them from?

  • Michael Fassbender (Prometheus, Assassins Creed, Xmen: Days of future past, Tresspass Against us)

  • Jussie Smollett (The Mighty Ducks, The Skinny, North)
  • Callie Hernandez (Lala Land, Blair Witch, Graves)

Who is the director and what is she/he known for?

Assassin’s Creed (2016) **REVIEW**

When they announced that they where making a film about the game franchise Assassins Creed so many expectations was made from the fans. And myself are a fan of the games. I was hoping they would do Ezio, but they didn’t. They did a different character named Aguilar and his descendant.

Templars and Assassins Creed have been at war for centuries. The assassins have always stopped Templars from finding artifacts that they would use for personal gain and hid it. And its one that they want, Apple of Eden. It’s said it contains mankind free will and using the apple would take away the free will and that is just what the Templars want.

They find descendants and take them to a location in Madrid and put them through a machine called Animus where they will see their ancestors actions and live their story, if they sync they will learn their ancestors skills. And that is exactly what is happening to Cal Lynch. A murderer who just been executed and now Templars got him to find Apple of Eden. But they don’t count on the others in the building nor that Cal will take on the Creed.

When it comes to film critics they have said this film was horrible but for the fans of the games they liked it, well some anyway. I am one of them who liked it and I can let you know – number 2 is in production as we speak. And I am excited to see what they will do with it.

Actors: Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael Kenneth Williams, Ariane Labed and many more.

X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) **REVIEW**

I am a huge fan of the X-Men movie series but there where some faults in this one that doesn’t make sense with the first ones coming out several years ago.

So Apocalypse takes us back to the 80’s and we see some XMen at a young age when they first started and some being recruited as a “horsemen” for an old God who recently woken up after being asleep for 5000 years or so. He makes their powers stronger. And this God names is Apocalypse and he isn’t happy about the fact people forgot about him and not worshiping anymore so what does he do? He recruits 4 people who can be easily controlled, who lost something and they are usually being called the horsemen. So now it’s up to the X-Men to stop this creature. But he is strong so how do they stop him?

We see a young Jean Grey – before she could control her powers, a young Cyclops – being Jeans only friend and also, we get to see a young Kurt Wagner and he joined the X-Men. And it’s here nothing makes sense. Kurt Wagner was introduced in earlier X-Men movies and then Jean and Kurt didn’t know each other. So is there a story that hasn’t been told? I know I haven’t read the comics but for us who didn’t, for us this part don’t make sense.

Over all, X Men: Apocalypse is good. Got some cool effect but somehow – that’s about it. Feels like they are pumping the franchise for money and they lost what X-Men used to be.

Actors: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Oscar Isaac, Evan Peters, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan and many more.
