Netflix Original: The 101 Year Old Man Who Skipped Out on the Bill and Disappeared (2016) **REVIEW**

‘The 101 Year Old Man Who Skipped Out on the Bill and Disappeared’ is a comedy coming from Sweden and I found it the other day on Netflix and talk I was happy. As some of you might not know I’m born and raised in Sweden so comedy was a huge part of my life since it’s part of our culture. The main character is a huge comedy actor and one my favorite from home.

‘The 101 Year Old Man Who Skipped Out on the Bill and Disappeared’ is about a man called Allan Karlsson who was a spy for the Russians and Americans during Cold War. He developed something called Folksoda and now people are looking for him to get the recipe.  So Allan and his friend goes from Bali where the film begins to go to Berlin to pick up the recipe for the Folksoda but ends up in Russia first to then take a train to Berlin. On the plane from Bali to Berlin Allan’s pet friend monkey went into his bag and he got out in the plane caused panic and had to get off in Russia.

So, when it gets out in the world that Allan is alive and Russian woman living in Sweden goes after him (her father worked with Allan during Cold War) and then a British man also goes after him. So when  Allan and his friend travels around to find the recipe to only find it.. well.. not in Berlin. It’s quite funny one and one of my favorite actors – Robert Gustafson – playing Allan. Loved every bit of it.

It’s a Netflix Original film, got happy to find it on the British one, so have a look on your Netflix and see if they added it in your country. Keep in mind – it’s in Swedish so it’s subtitled.

Actors: Robert Gustafsson, Crystal the Monkey, Caroline Boulton, Jens Hulten, Colin McFarlane, Joseph Long, David Schaal, David Wiberg, Georg Nikoloff and many more.

Ragnarok (2013) **REVIEW**

Ragnarok is comes from Nordic Mythology meaning doomsday – end of the world as we know it. But in this film – Ragnarok isn’t doomsday. As well all know, legends started somewhere and in time it changes and becomes something else. Like in this case, in this film. Ragnarok is a Norwegian film, so if you don’t understand Norwegian (I don’t) then you’ll need subtitles. Ragnarok IMDb

Sigurd have spend years and years researching a viking ship and it’s meaning. Trying to figure out who’s and where and why it’s there. He knows he belonged to a viking queen Åsa and that she, her father and their men hid something by a lake called “Odins Eye”. Sigurds research partner Allan find an old rune stone and the two men decides to go out in the northern wilderness in Norway to find “Odins Eye”. But there is one thing, Sigurd promised his 2 children they would go an holiday so he have to convince them to go with him on this trip. They believe it’ll be boring and nothing will happen, they won’t find anything. But…. they never expected the true meaning behind Ragnarok and why the vikings went to “Odins Eye” until they arrive.

You see actors like Pål Sverre Hagen, Nicolai Cleve Broch, Sofia Helin, Maria Annette Tandero Berglyd, Julian Podolski, Jens Hulten, Terje Stromdahl
