Beauty and the Beast (2017) **REVIEW**

We all seen the animation ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and how it changed our childhood with Belle being a smart girl who loves to read and see’s the beauty in all.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ live remake must be one of the most magical films I’ve seen in a very long time. We get to see some added scenes but they sticked to the story we saw as children. We see the beast being played by Dan Stevens and he is potraying him like the role was made for him. And let’s talk about Emma Watson playing Belle.. oh yes, she does it like she would be Belle. And who would have thought that she could actually sing. Playing Belle’s father we see Kevin Kline, as the horrible man who wants to marry Belle, Gaston is being played by Luke Evans. Luke sold me as Gaston, he terrified me a little because they made Gaston much darker in the live remake than in the original and did a excellent job.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ is about Belle living in a small village in France wanting something more in life than just a small town life and to be married. Then we have the prince living in a castle, a spell been cast on the castle and everyone is.. changed. A rose is in a glass, if the prince doesn’t find true love, a girl who loves him for him and see something different than the beast he is, the spell is broken. We see the regular Belle being locked in but Lumiere unlocking the door and leads her to her room and the beast wanting to have dinner with her but.. she’s the only one who says no. And we know how the story goes from there – the beast changes slowly after he saves Belle from the wolves. Maurice, Belles father, being called crazy and thrown into a mental institute. The beast gives Belle a HUGE library and she can’t believe her eyes. They are slowly falling for each other and admits their love for one and other when Gaston – tries to kill the beast to get rid of him so he can marry Belle.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ live remake is something you have to go and see if you love the original. It contains the best magic and graphic you’ve ever seen and you just fall in love with the story one more time. And don’t forget to sing along to the songs.

Actors: Emma Watson, Luke Evans, Dan Stevens, Josh Gad, Kevin Kline, Hattie MoraHan, Haydn Gwynne, Ray Fearon, Ian McKellen, Ewan McGregor, Audra MacDonald and many more.

Moana (2016) **REVIEW**

When it comes to Disney they seem to stick with the formula that works, a pretty girl, stubborn hero, saving the world.

“Moana” is based on ancient Polynesian culture, there’s this demigod who steals a goddess heart and this heart is the heart of all creation. So when it go stolen by Maui the world slowly started to crumble, there was no fish to fish, plants dying and Islands becoming inhabitable. When Moana was a little girl the ocean showed her the way her life needed to take, she listened but her father did everything he could to prevent her from leaving the Island her and her tribe lived on. But as a preadult she is starting to see how the Island is dying and she listens once again to her calling, with a little help from her grandmother – the village crazy.

So Moana sets sail to find Maui, the demigod who stole the goddess heart so he could put it back. And it won’t be so easy, since he’s a demigod and still believe he’s everyones hero, even though he stole the heart of all creation. It takes a lot of convincing from Moana to make it happen.

The film got it’s regular cheese platter and as it does have a strong female lead, a woman who saves the world, it’s nothing special about the film. It’s a Disney film. It missed the magic that the Disney films used to have back in the day with Aladdin, Beauty and Beast etc. For me the highlight of “Moana” must have been the chicken, they got a retarded (yes) chicken who well.. he makes the film.

Voice actors: Dwayne Johnson, Auli’i Cravalho, Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Jemaine Clement and many more.

Saving Mr Banks (2013) **REVIEW**

This film is one that made me smile and at the same time feel sad. Saving Mr Banks is about  when the author of Mary Poppins comes to L.A to sign papers of Disney’s adaption of her book.

P.L Travers – the woman who wrote Mary Poppins. We get to see her in different setting then what she is used to back in England. Disney seems to be a happy fellow and people love him. We also get to see P.L remembering her childhood and how she protests on how the characters should be and how they should look. She almost calls it off.

You could say P.L is a bit difficult to work with but yet everyone likes her when she’s.. let’s say in a good mood. After a lot of going back and forth she settles how for the songs, looks and everything else. She goes back to England a changed woman but still the same. Just bit more relaxed.

Saving Mr Banks is something you should see if not haven’t done so already. It’s filled with laughter, sadness and of course the amazing actor that is Tom Hanks who portrays Walt Disney. Something he does very well – he can almost play anything. We see the brilliant Emma Thompson playing P.L Travers and who else would they have hired if not her? Both these amazing actors did a fantastic job and yes – see it when you have time.

You see actors like Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti, Bradley Whitford, B.J. Novak. Jason Schwartzman and many more.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) **REVIEW**

Just before Christmas I got to see the new Star Wars film. I’m a fan of the franchise and seen the films. I’ve seen split opinions about the new one but I can say I really enjoyed it. Many thought Disney would ruin this legendary epic saga but they kept how it is.

It’s been 30 years since Darth Vader defeated and all been well until now. A new threat have risen and it’s bigger and meaner than Darth Vader. We get to see how someone from the resistance is trying to find Luke – who disappeared, visit a village to get the last piece of clues on where Luke is. During this visit this new threat also pays a visit and mayhem begins. We get introduced to a new droid, a hidden star of the film. The droid carries the last clue and basically runs from the mayhem. During the shoot out in this village, one of the storm troopers doesn’t want to kill. He hesitates. The resistance guy gets captured and the storm troopers helps him to escape.

We get introduced to several new characters. For example Rey. A lonely girl who is scavenging for pieces to get food. She was left alone on a planet by her parents. But we don’t know who her parents are. But she does have the force and it conflicted about it. Before she finds out about who she is, she meets the droid and gives him shelter. She meets the storm trooper and they set out on adventure and steal a ship. Not any ship – Millennium Falcon.

In this film we find out who the new threat is. We see familiar faces, Chewie, Han Solo, Princess Lea, R2D2, c-3PO & Luke (in the end). What did you think? Thought they wouldn’t find him? They did.

If you are a fan of the Star Wars franchise I would recommend for you to see this film if you haven’t done so already. It can be a messy film but it all comes together in the middle and you have to follow and trust the film. And you will like the new droid, he is charming and quite funny for not having lines.

You see actors like Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and many more.

Inside Out (2015) **REVIEW**

When Disney was making this film they had doctors and behaviour institute to consult with them to make this one as real as possible and I have to say, they nailed it. Inside Out is a film that every child and adult should watch. They have given the emotions joy, sadness, disgust, anger & fear their own personalities you could say, and show how they work. And we got goofy island, family island, friendship island etc. Every thing that makes a person.

Riley is a pre teen girl who just had to move cross country and everything is turning inside out and inside her head we have joy, sadness, fear, anger and fear working to make the best of it. But something goes wrong each time. Joy and Sadness get sucked in and out of head quarters and now they have to find their way back their. Because everything that makes Riley’s personality is starting to “crash and crumble”. So Joy and Sadness have to make their way back fast as possible.

I would really recommend for anyone to see this film, it can be a little sad but it also got it’s perfect moments.

You hear voices from Amy Phoeler, Phyllis Smith, Richard Kind, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, Kaitlyn Dias and many more.

Tomorrowland (2015) **REVIEW**

When you see the trailer for Tomorrowland you think “maybe not”. But I’m going to tell you a little something: It’s worth your time.

Frank Walker was a smart child and equally smart as an adult. When he was a child he got an invite to come to Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland is a place out of our world where some of the smartest can work without anyone telling them no or they can’t do that. But Frank got himself kicked out and now living in our world again. He’s living all safe til one day a girl shows up, Casey. She was given a pin that would take her to Tomorrowland. The person who gave her the pin is a robot in a shape of a child. This robot and Frank got a history of being close friends when he used to be in Tomorrowland. The robot, Athena, thinks Casey might be the person who can save the world from dying, from destruction. All they have to do is go to back to Tomorrowland, where both Frank and Athena got themselves kicked out of. Easy? Never is!

Yes, Tomorrowland is worth your time and I absolutely loved it. I was skeptic at first when I saw it but then I grew to love it. George Clooney plays Frank and it’s out of his comfort zone when it comes to a role, but he did an excellent job with it.. Was refreshing seeing him doing something a little more different.

You see actors like George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw and many more.
