Life (2017) **REVIEW**

When it comes to films about aliens it can either be a hit or a serious miss. It’s difficult to make something like this good. Because there are so many alien films out there already so most have already been done! When I saw the trailer for ‘Life’ I was skeptical, it didn’t seem too good but I took a chance and thought maybe it could be good.

We got a team of scientist floating in space in an International Space Station looking for life in space, one day they find something and people back on Earth rejoices. The scientist begin to poke and prod on the creature, it seems cute because of its size. But you know, looks can be VERY deceiving though. One day they prodded it too far and it started to fight back. It grabs one of the scientist hand and breaks it, really uncomfortable too see. There is something about this life form that will creep you out – more people it kills and feeds on – yep feeds on – the bigger it gets and it can get terrifying. Now the scientist are fighting for their life and every trick they tried to kill the creature, it didn’t work, just made it more angry.

‘Life’ had it surprises, both good and bad one. I’ve seen very split reviews about ‘Life’ but I got creeped out by it. It isn’t like other alien films, I felt that this one is more realistic than the other alien films out there. And I would recommend it to anyone who would like to see it. It’s not too bad actually.

Actors: Hiroyuki Sanada, Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Olga Dihovichnaya, Ariyon Bakare, Jesus Del Orden and many more.

Wonder Woman (2017) **REVIEW**

When it comes to DC I always been a bit iffy. When I heard ‘Wonder Woman’ was going to  get a remake and Gal Gadot (Fast and the furious) was going to play Diana I was thrilled, she’s a good actress. When I walked into the cinema screen this weekend I walked in with an open mind and not expecting much, I been very disappointed in past about remakes.

At the start we see Diana as a small child sneaking to see the warriors train, she wants nothing more to train herself and is seen mimic their moves. Her aunt Antiope, the general of Amazon warriors, decides to train her behind Diana’s mother – Amazon Queen. Until Diana’s early/mid teen her mother catches them training and then she decides to let Diana get trained, harder than anyone. Diana grows up to be the best warrior but still get easily distracted.

So, when Diana is standing by a cliff she see’s an airplane crashing into the water, she saves the pilot – Steve. Shortly after the island where the Amazons are gets a visit from the Germans and most of them dies in the attack because they got new weapons that Amazons never seen before – guns. So you know guns VS swords and bows, I am sure you can guess which one would win when the enemy got a distance. But the Amazons wins with a little help from Steve. But the ladies isn’t convinced that he is a good one but Diana want to help him after he describes the outside world an she wants to help, convinced Aries is behind the World War 2. Her mother allows her to leave, so Diana does knowing she might never be able to return home to her mother.

Diana goes out in the World War 2, helping people with the help of 3 men. She is seeing 2 sides of men, the good one and the bad one. Still convinced Aries is behind it at all and thinking a German general is Aries, she is ruthless and goes after him, but little did she know, she already met Aries, but he makes his presence known by the end, where we get introduced to him and we see who he is. And I promise, it’s ALWAYS the last person you’d ever think it would be.

But is ‘Wonder Woman’ a good film for this generation of young ladies? I’d say so. Diana is a kickass warrior who can take care of herself, she speaks over 100 languages and she won’t walk away from a fight, she stays and she wins. A good statement to show young ladies today. Myself is a little like her, I don’t speak 100 languages, I speak 2 – both fluent. I don’t walk away with the smallest sign of difficulty. I would recommend to go and see and see ‘Wonder Woman’ today with your friends, nieces, sisters why not go and see it with your male friends, brothers, nephews? Anyone can see this and leave feeling ready to take on anything. Gal Gadot did a amazing job as ‘Wonder Woman’ and I can’t wait to see more of her version of Diana.

Actors: Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Said Taghmaoui, Ewen Bremner, Eugene Brave Rock and many more.

Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) **REVIEW**

Remember when the first Carribean film came out and we all was so mesmerized and loved the story, we met Elizabeth Swan and Will Turner, the very charming but frustrating Jack Sparrow, Barbossa and his crew. And now in this 5th installment we get to met some of th people we met in the very first film and oh boy it is nostalgic.

It’s been 19 years since Elizabeth’s and Will’s son been born, his name is Henry and all he want is to break his fathers curse (if you remember he is stuck on the dutchmen) . He knows a lot about curses and pirates, obviously. But not everyone believe in curses and ghosts. Til one day the boat he is on gets attacked, by ghost pirates. He gets back to mainland being the only survivor and also, being a traitor because he tried to have the boat to turn around because they was about to sail into a cursed place. Captain not listening ended up being attacked. But Henry being hung up by they got attacked by ghost but one person need his help to find something called Poseidon triad. Something that would break any sea curse so Henry want to get his hands on it, but first, he need to find Jack Sparrow. Henry get help by Jack – which end up being quite difficult because well, Jack being Jack. His other partner is a woman, Carina. Who never her father but she does without knowing it. He gangs up with Jack, Henry and Carina to help find the treasure to fight the ghost pirates who has it in for, guess who!? Jack Sparrow. But who do you think it is? My jaw dropped when it came out.

‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ is funny, action filled, witty and sad all wrapped into a nice ‘Pirates of the Carribean’ bow. We do get to meet Will Turner again as well as Elizabeth Swan, since they are Henry’s parents. If you are a big fan of the franchise you should watch the film. It’s amazing. But you should see the first 3 films before seeing this one.

Actors: Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Geoffrey Rush, Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, Kevin McNally, Stephen Graham, Martin Klebba, Adam Brown and many more.

The Great Wall (2016) **REVIEW**

‘The Great Wall’ isn’t just a chinese fast food place I order frequently from it’s also a very good film starring Matt Damon. There are a lot of legends about what the wall of China was used for, what it’s protecting and ‘The Great Wall’ is one of those films that tells one of those legends.

A the film begins we see a group of men running from a tribe in China, being chased and killed, picked off one by one. They manage to shake them off an hide in the mountains. As there are a few men left sitting by the fire, all of the sudden something comes for them, sneaking and snatching them, one by one they fall. William (Matt Damon) kills one of them, get’s a foot as a trophy. He and his friend Tovar rides and ends up by a large wall, they obviously get’s captured but they show the large army the foot they have and all of the sudden, the leaders of the army seems intrigued by them. Shortly after that, we get to see what exactly they are fighting and now William and Tovar have a choice to make, fight along side them or stay hidden. Because, this army won’t let them leave because they have seen what they are fighting and it needs to be kept a secret from the outside world.

‘The Great Wall’ is much better than you might think, give it a chance and watch it. If you like some cool fighting scenes, awesome visual effects and people in some kickass armors then trust me, this film is for you.

Actors: Matt Damon, Tian Jing, Willem Dafoe, Andy Lau, Pedro Pascal, Hanyu Zhang, Lu Han and many more.

Netflix Original: Spectral (2016) **REVIEW**

When it comes to Sci-Fi it’s either a hit or miss or somewhere in between. But ‘Spectral’ is a true hit and it had me in suspense the entire time.

‘Spectral’ takes place in Moldova, the world is in despair of war and a team of special ops are facing a whole new enemy, something they can’t see, fight or kill. It comes sneaking up to it’s victims and when you are about realize what is going to happen it’s too late. This thing goes right through you and it’s over. The team get’s an engineer over to monitor what is going on and possibly build something to help them. As they go out in Moldova to find one of these things, something happens they never expected. They are more and coming towards them in large numbers, working together and the team now have to run because stopping these things, won’t be easy. Just need to figure out what they are and what they are made of.

‘Spectral’ can be found on Netflix in their Netflex Original category, it’s a 1H 48min long action filled film. Just don’t blink, you might miss the thing that’s chasing them.

Actors: James Badge Dale, Emily Mortimer, Bruce Greenwood, Max Martini, Cory Hardict & Clayne Crawford with many more.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol2 (2017) **REVIEW**

When the first ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ was released I must say I was a little hesitant to see it but I saw it and today I love it and can’t stop watching it. So when I heard a second one was coming I was really excited and I got the opportunity this week to go to the cinema and see it and I have to say, it’s absolutely amazing.

Volume 2 begins with the guardians protecting batteries from a monster who want to see it. We see little Groot fighting small rats because they ‘looked at him’ funny. They manage to kill the monster but Rocket also manage to offend the people who hired them to protect the batteries by stealing some of the batteries so now they are being hunted. Not only that, Quill’s father shows up. Of course Quill is a little hestitant to believe him but Gamora talks him into going with his father to get some answers.

So obviously Quill likes him and starting to admire his father. We get to see who his father is and what he is. Answers. But can the team handle it? In this film we get to see a new side of Drax and it’s downright hysterical, who knew he could be sensitive, funny and down to earth kind of alien. He befriends Quill’s fathers ‘pet’ Mantis and it’s really adorable. And to talk about Groot, he steals the show by being freakishly cute. I am hoping for the third film, we get to see Groot as a teenager, that would be epic. When Quill meets his real father, you will start to understand Yondu.

If you loved the first ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ then you will love the second one. It will make you laugh til you cry and just cry. It got it’s funny moments and sad ones. They hit you right in the feels.

Actors: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sylvester Stallone, Pom Klementieff, Kurt Russell and many more.

Beauty and the Beast (2017) **REVIEW**

We all seen the animation ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and how it changed our childhood with Belle being a smart girl who loves to read and see’s the beauty in all.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ live remake must be one of the most magical films I’ve seen in a very long time. We get to see some added scenes but they sticked to the story we saw as children. We see the beast being played by Dan Stevens and he is potraying him like the role was made for him. And let’s talk about Emma Watson playing Belle.. oh yes, she does it like she would be Belle. And who would have thought that she could actually sing. Playing Belle’s father we see Kevin Kline, as the horrible man who wants to marry Belle, Gaston is being played by Luke Evans. Luke sold me as Gaston, he terrified me a little because they made Gaston much darker in the live remake than in the original and did a excellent job.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ is about Belle living in a small village in France wanting something more in life than just a small town life and to be married. Then we have the prince living in a castle, a spell been cast on the castle and everyone is.. changed. A rose is in a glass, if the prince doesn’t find true love, a girl who loves him for him and see something different than the beast he is, the spell is broken. We see the regular Belle being locked in but Lumiere unlocking the door and leads her to her room and the beast wanting to have dinner with her but.. she’s the only one who says no. And we know how the story goes from there – the beast changes slowly after he saves Belle from the wolves. Maurice, Belles father, being called crazy and thrown into a mental institute. The beast gives Belle a HUGE library and she can’t believe her eyes. They are slowly falling for each other and admits their love for one and other when Gaston – tries to kill the beast to get rid of him so he can marry Belle.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ live remake is something you have to go and see if you love the original. It contains the best magic and graphic you’ve ever seen and you just fall in love with the story one more time. And don’t forget to sing along to the songs.

Actors: Emma Watson, Luke Evans, Dan Stevens, Josh Gad, Kevin Kline, Hattie MoraHan, Haydn Gwynne, Ray Fearon, Ian McKellen, Ewan McGregor, Audra MacDonald and many more.
