At one point as a child we had the book about the fantastic little bear called ‘Winnie the Pooh’ read to us. We either loved him or we didn’t. But he became a huge part of my childhood. I’ve read all the books and seen the TV-series adaption.
To my very huge happy surprise they have made a film about how he was written. In the film we get to follow the process of when the author wrote him and the fantastic response the book got and how popular it became, so quickly.!
Actors: Margot Robbie, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Mcdonald, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Alex Lawther and many more.
When it comes to stories based on true stories you need to keep in mind that some of the story have been altered to the film, added something or removed something because it wasn’t interesting enough. ‘The Lost City of Z’ is taking place between 1911 – 1920’s about a man Percy Fawcett, a man who was obsessed about finding a lost city in the Amazon jungle.
He left three times and going to first world war once. But last time he left he went missing. During his travels he saw antiques older than any society spread out, knowing it’s a city out there somewhere, a city who been long forgotten and abandoned. When Percy is about to return for a third time his oldest son Jack is to join him. He wants to go out there for longer and with less things to make it an easy one.
Percy & Jack sets off to the jungle and charts into unknown terratory.Thinking they would return with the exact location of the lost city. With high hopes they are making their way through the jungle, the jungle that got so many dangers, mainly the tribes.
It’s been almost 100 years since the disappearance of Percy & Jack Fawcett, no one knows what actually happened to them. They either got a cut and died from illness from a untreated wound, kidnapped by a tribe and prepared to be the meal. Might even have fallen down a cliff. We will never know what happened. We can only speculate.
I would recommend seeing the film and Percy’s struggle to be believed as for he was made fun of before they believe him.. During 21st century archeologists have found a network of tunnels, bridges etc that suggest city of Z.
Actors: Charlie Hunnam, Tom Holland, Sienna Miller, Robert Pattinson, Angus Mcfadyen, Edward Ashley, Clive Francis and many more.
We all know the tragic events that happened in Boston, U.S in April 2013 during a marathon. I can never forget the images that was shown on the news and in news papers. I live in Europe, have been for all my life but seeing event and people who lost their lives, it can’t be described.
‘Patriots Day’ takes you behind the scenes of that day. We get to see the police investigation and get to know the officers and their resilience into finding these men. All it took and the injured along the way, there was no stopping the officers. The men doing the deed probably thought they where never going to be caught and kept being outside and driving around, shooting others and kidnapping others like it’s no big deal. It makes you think – what are people really capable of when twisted enough!?
What inspired me with ‘Patriots Day’ was anyone can come together when in need and nothing is impossible long as you work together as a team. In the end of the film we get to see the victims and in their words describe what was going through their mind.
Actors: Mark Wahlberg, Rhet Kidd, John Goodman, Christopher O’Shea, Rachel Brosnahan, Jake Picking and many more.
We keep seeing films and TV shows based on real events, and this one is no different. USS Indianapolis was on a secret mission to deliver a crate across the ocean with men on board during World War 2. And following them on deep waters was a japanese submarine. Tried to shoot once and failed, followed them some more, shot again and did not miss this time.
Boat sank and now the men on the ship are in the waters, shark infested waters. And the sharks are taking them one by one as the men are trying to hold on to floating items and rafts to survive and not drown. And how fast will rescue come or will it ever come!?
USS Indianapolis got you in the edge of your seat during the entire film. We see some excellent acting from young and veteran actors. We see how a group of men from different backgrounds and colors come together during their fight for survival.
Actors: Nicolas Cage, Tom Sizemore, Thomas Jane, Matt Lanter, James Remar, Brian Presley, Adam Scott Miller, Cody Walker and many more.
A lot happened in 2001 that had the world shaken up. But there was one thing that happened in Boston that had the city shaken and then the country.
Spotlight is based on a true story on how Boston Globe uncovered a web of lies and child abuse within the Catholic Church. We follow 5 journalists and their work to uncover the truth. We see the ups and downs. The unwillingness if the church to cooperate, they rather sweep it under the rug, they prefer to put the priest in a different parish and have him doing it again and keep shoving him around rather than handle it as it should.
During their investigation one of the journalists find a priest living in his neighbourhood, a priest who’s on a list who molested children. How do you react to that? As they all are trying to keep their cool and find all documents they need and doing all the interviews they find themselves feeling heavy, losing sleep. As they find one lawyer who is willing to work with them and tell them how to find documents but the church will try and grab those documents before anyone else to bury it. People been trying to speak out before but church got to them first and asked them to keep quiet.
So it’s key for these journalists to work quietly so the piece will become bigger and they unravel as much as 90 priests in Boston alone who was under suspicion of child abuse. Their road is long and being there for the victims is key to the journalists to get the right story told.
Actors: Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, John Slattery, Brian d’Arcy James, Stanley Tucci, Gene Amoroso and many more.
Robert the doll is supposed to have happened before Annabelle -the film that freaked most people out and getting scared of dolls. Robert the doll was alright. I have to say Annabelle was scarier. The story itself is a good one but it doesn’t really got any jump scares or have any creepy scenes. I got disappointed.
Jenny and Paul are living in a nice big house with their son Gene. When they realize their house keeper is becoming more and more senile they decide to let her go. They shouldn’t have done that. She house keeper gives Gene a present – a doll called Robert. Gene gets attached to the doll and believe it talks to him. The adults around find the doll creepy. And if you talk to the doll like you don’t like it – something bad will happen. Gene says that Robert will be mad if you don’t take care of him.
I’ve read reviews and people been having good things to say – I say it’s a little boring for being a horror film. When it comes to dolls and children it can become creepy but this one – it wasn’t Annabelle just let me say that. Would I recommend it? No.
You see actors like Lee Bane, Suzie Frances Garton, Flynn Allen, Cyd Casados, Samuel Hutchison and many more.
Straight Outta Compton is a film we can discuss for ages. It gives us an insight on what happened behind the scenes and happened to the guys.
In the mid 80’s a rapper Eazy-E and the boys in NWA (Ice Cube, DR Dre DJ Yella, MC Ren) is making their way in Comtpon, Los Angeles. Trying to survive and make it in the music business. And one day that chance comes. It takes them on a rollercoaster of their lives. When they get stopped just outside their studio because they where “gang bangers” Ice Cube writes one of their iconic songs – Fuck Da Police. And that’s when problems hits. With success comes people who want to stop the success. FBI & police want to stop them from playing it. Do they listen? No. They keep hitting the success button – even they go seperate ways when they see something isn’t right in their contracts.
We see the up and downs of success of these boys. How it all started and almost came crashing down.
