When it comes to the director M. Night Shyamalan most horror fans leave disappointed and when ever Shyamalan release something new they got no faith the film will be good. That’s how I felt when I heard he was making “Split” because the storyline sounded quite amazing when I read about the film and saw the trailer of it.
“Split” is about a man, Kevin, who got DID, a personality disorder. He has 23 different personalities living inside his head and most of them are quite harmless, they are nice, some are playful and others are just plain scary and one day one of the personalities does the unthinkable, he kidnaps 3 young girls and planning on giving them to someone called “The Beast” and this guy is right the scariest you can think. During the time the girls are being kept captive they are trying to figure out how to get out and get home but there are three personalities that are mostly dominant. And these three are responsible for deciding kidnapping the three young girls. And during the time we get to see Kevin going to his psychologist and each time he sees her there is something she is picking up, he sends her emails asking for emergency sessions and next day he can’t remember. So question is which personality is sending those emails? Also, we get to see flashbacks on one of the girls from her childhood and how exactly will that save her life? Well you just have to see it for yourself?
When I walked in to the cinema to see “Split” I walked in with a skeptical mind, because whenever I been seeing a movie by Shyamalan I been left so disappointed but “Split” isn’t a scary film but it’s so interesting to watch and I was never bored for a second watching “Split” and I would recommend anyone to actually see it. James McAvoy is MADE for the role as Kevin with 23 personalities and a 24th is about to emerge and he is the scariest of them ALL! And if you see a film from 2000 called Unbreakable then you WILL understand the ending!
