When it comes to zombie films it’s really overdone and the thing need to stop. When I saw the trailer for Extinction I felt it was different. I’d say it’s a different zombie film in a way. And yes, it was better than I thought it would be.
Extinction is about two men and a child. A very cold winter and isolation. Patrick, Jack & Lu (child) lives cross each other. Jack takes care of Lu while Patrick lives cross the street with his dog. Patrick and Jack are having a eight year long argument about a woman – Emma. Lu’s mother.
When the world was about to come to an end with zombies Emma got bitten, they chopped her arm off and she was fine. They lived in a small town on their own with the child and one day when Emma and Patrick was going for food, Patrick walked off drunk of his head and Emma walked back to the car – only to get attacked again. But this time she wasn’t so lucky.
Jack took Lu to take care of her away from Patrick. But they live cross the street from each other. Not talking. Until one day when a creature comes for them. They thought all the monsters where gone. But they weren’t. They stayed away and they evolved. And become even more dangerous.
So now Patrick & Jack need to work together to protect Lu with the help of a woman they found on the street, shot, cold and wet. So question is now, will they be able to set aside all their differences to survive and possibly flee before more comes for them?
